Collaborative Core Research
Charges for collaborative core research will be negotiated on a per project basis. In general, the negotiated rates will reflect the need of the MS Facility to recover costs associated with materials, instrument time and facility personnel. Faculty having projects involving extensive mass spectrometry analysis are encouraged to discuss their project needs with the Facility Director (618-453-6428)

Instrument Training / Walk-up Instrument Use
Bruker MicroFlex MALDI MS Training (ca. 2.5 hours) For projects involving extensive MALDI MS analyses, faculty may choose to select someone from their group to be trained on the benchtop Bruker MicroFlex MALDI MS. User training should be scheduled with the Director of the SIU Mass Spectrometry Facility (453-6428).
$150.00
Walk-up* use of Bruker MicroFlex MALDI MS (per hour)
(*subject to availability per instrument usage schedule)
$25.00
MALDI Target (MSP 96 spot, polished stainless steel)
Individuals using the walk-up MALDI MS instrument are expected to provide their own sample target(s).
$218.00 (plus S&H)
GCMS Training (ca. 2.5 hours) For projects involving extensive GCMS analyses, faculty may choose to select someone from their group to be trained on the Thermo Scientific TraceGC - PolarisQ GCMS. User training should be scheduled with the Director of the SIU Mass Spectrometry Facility (453-6428).
$150.00
Walk-up* use of Thermo Scientific TraceGC - PolarisQ GCMS (per hour)
(*subject to availability per instrument usage schedule)
$25.00
GCMS columns
Individuals using the walk-up GCMS instrument will either be required to use the standard facility column (contact director) or provide their own custom column.
